Afternoon all.

As above really....

Does anyone know of anyone who can carry out ultrasonic cleaning? We/I require some carbs to be given a once over smile

Cheers all,

Tim.

Keep your eyes open for Aldi offers. I got a couple of their ultrasonic cleaners for 20 quid each a couple of months ago. They're not huge, but due to the nature of the beast you can do things in half, by dipping it in twice. Probably big enough for a bike carb' body though.

The old man's cleaned up some odds and ends, and thinks it's great!

Worth a look for the sake of £20 smile

Definately!

Cheers Simon. I'll have a look about. Do you know if these can be hired anywhere?

I don't, mate.

You're welcome to have a loan of the one at the old man's, if you want? Not sure how effective it is in anger, as it's only been used on cosmetic stuff!

Hi Kev, I've had a look, those are quite small but the right idea, thanks. I've found a bigger one still in Norwich so I might explore a bit more....

Simon, if I could borrow your dads that would be fantastic, or even bring the carbs over and let it do it's thing. I understand it shouldn't take long?? sometimes as quick as five minutes??

Somehow I find that hard to believe but I guess we'll see....

I've got one of the Aldi/Lidl cleaners, works brilliantly on watches and jewellery. Maplins sell them as well, starting at about £30.

Thanks. I have a fear those will be too small as it's motorbike carbs i'm trying to get clean.

Hiya, did you find somewhere to get your carburettors ultrasonically cleaned? If not try ABC Motorcycles on Dereham in Road in Norwich on 01603 740072, we have an ultrasonic tank and the specific fluid for carburettor cleaning, we charge £12 per immersion to pre-stripped carbs or we also strip and re-assemble for an additional fee.
Kind regards
Andy
