Hi, newbie here. Got the Silverstone II M3 booked in to East Bilney Coachworks (Dereham one) for major paint job, basically full repaint due to previous bad paintjobs b4 I got it. Anyone got experience of their standards of work, I believe it is very good which is why I chose them, however there is some malicious stuff out there on the net about their work. I know you only hear about the bad, never the good, any reviews would be most welcome b4 I part with £2800 inc !!

Many years ago my brother's insured wanted to use them for a paint stripper repair. No complaints really. They did a good job, although forgot to replace a front indicator - this was swiftly corrected.

However at a similar time to the above, I asked them for a quote on my old Mercedes. The chap kept telling me that I didn't really want to do it and shouldn't, contantly disuading me. Then I received a quote that was wildly expensive, pricing themselves out. If they were not interested in doing the job, I wish they would have just told me! I've never been back.

They do (or used to do) alot of work for insurers, and are/were official Bentley and Lotus repairers, so they must have a good rep for work completed.

IMO, the work is good but my experience of initial service was not.

HTH.

Thanks Darren, the guys I dealt with were very pleasant and professional and got the quote out to me next day. They are aware how fussy I am and took time to explain that they cant guarantee a perfect match as the colour is a tricky one. The estimator was very interested in the car and spent a long time discussing motors in general. They still are Lotus and Bentley accredited so I feel easier about entrusting my pride and joy to them ! Thanks for your comments, much appreciated, regards, Kim.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/4.gif

You forgot that they also had to respray the front bumper after it was poorly preped. It was done without a fuss and I was collected from my house and taken back to the garage by the owner at a high rate of knots. I have only had positive experiences with them.

Thanks guys, I feel better already, you know how it is when you have to try to make an informed decision about a company ! Someone out there obviously has an axe to grind against these guys and has posted up some pretty defamatory stuff, regards, Kimbowhttp://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/imgs/2.gif

Indeed a lot of people do have an axe to grind, especially if you own a particular body styling company based in Norfolk wink

This makes interesting reading CLICK HERE

I have never used them so can not comment

These guys have sprayed both of my Lambos, and both were 4 part pearlescent colours. The last time was a couple of months ago on the LP 640 for frontal chip damage and lower side chips.
Both jobs were superbly executed, in fact better than the job a reputable Lamborghini Service centre done a few years ago on my yellow Murci.
In my opinion - everyone can slate anyone with 5th hand hearsay, but my multiple experience with complicated high value marques has been great.
Good luck - but you won't need it!

Thanks for taking the time to reply Neil, I have faith in them as the guy I have been dealing with there has been very efficient. He knows I am a very particular person when it comes to my car and I believe they will do a first class job, not cheap but I dont want cheap !

Update !! I put my trust in these guys and it has been rewarded ! The car is nearly finished and I have been invited down to see it before they put it back together again to make sure I am totally happy. I must say it is a superb job and I have been treated exceptionally well by all staff there at all times. I have been kept informed of progress at all stages and advised of any other bits and pieces needed during the work (clips etc.) They have even painted the boot (which wasnt originally in the estimate) at no cost to me to ensure that the overall paint match is spot on. They also removed a small dent in the bonnet which I wasnt too bothered about,(which I did shutting the bonnet too vigorously once !) free of charge as they said they want a perfect job for me. Overall they have made great effort and been thoroughly professional throughout. I would recommend them unreservedly if you want top class paintwork doing on your pride and joy ! They are not cheap but I'd rather pay once for the best job.
