Cars arrive midday, a fully themed programme of events starts at 2.00pm

In celebration of our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, a “Car Collection” display has been organised on the Camping Close in Steeple Bumpstead. If you are the owner, or keeper, of any car registered on or before 1977 (Silver Jubilee Year), we warmly invite you to join us with your vehicle.

Cars will be displayed in two categories: -
  • Before the Queen’s Coronation (1952)
  • 1952 to Silver Jubilee (1977)
The day of celebration will include a broad range of activities and encompass many areas of interest and hobbies. Great value refreshments will be available all day, or if you prefer, bring a picnic and join the Jubilee Picnic.

Participation in the Car Collection is free of charge and on arrival, you will be provided with an attractive laminated windscreen card to display with your vehicle.

To allow easy access to the display area, drivers should aim to arrive at Camping Close (for Sat Nav: CB9 7ED) before midday.

Please send details of your vehicle, including year of manufacture and any interesting history or stories relating to your pride and joy. The information you provide will be used to create your unique windscreen card. You will be sent your reservation number for the display. Unfortunately, drivers without a reservation will not be able to include their cars in the Jubilee Car Collection display.

Please add your details to this thread, or alternatively for further information, or to email your vehicle details, please message me via PH!

Thank you! smile

I'd need to bring it on a trailer - it's got a dead engine - no interior due to mice, the paintworks a mix of yellow gold and red oxide and the tyres don't hold air but it was registered in 1972 biggrin

Getting some lovely cars registered for the show!

Yesterday, it was a MKII Jag and a superb LR Roadsters Jaguar D type replica. Today, a mint 1958 Morris Minor Traveller and a 1965 Bedford "Romany"! smile

Looks like we may also be getting a steam lorry!

This is shaping up to be a lovely show!

Please contact me to participate...

It's too far for me to ride on a 1920s bike, but you should open up to motorbikes too. They were a key part of 'the Empire' smile

Well we have 43 cars registered so far for Monday's show...the oldest is a 1926 Austin "Chummy" and the newest a 1977 Triumph TR7! Should be a nice little show.

Despite a showery day on Monday, we had 44 cars on show and only 7 "no shows"...so really pleased. The quality and provenance of many of the cars was truly outstanding! Thank you to any PHers who came along...and of course all the other drivers and their freinds and families! smile
