Hi,

I need a small amount of work done on my car, nothing major just a patch of rust that needs cutting out and respray of a small panel. Looking on the net i've come across Apollo Sportscars and MD Allen Engineering both localish to me, Coltishall and Catfield.

Has anyone used them or have alternative recommendations?

It sounds relatively simple.

It is, but it might be a precursor to a full respray so i want somewhere that knows what they are doing.

The welding is probably very straight forward but don't get duped into more work than you need and want, I would take a trip to the said paint/body shops and scout out the quality of their work plus getting quotes.

I know Apollo.... They are next door to me wink...... Go there now and you will see a Triumph Roadster (of the Bergerac variety)having a major rebuild,a TR7,an MGBGT that have cut about (see pic below), a fully rebuilt MGB, and a series 1 RS Escort Turbo for a reshell.....I forgot the Jaguar X150 Leman special as well

Certainly well know there stuff and very honest

They cut the roof off and made the boot lid out of it, they have a Rover V8 to drop in it, the doors have been cut about, all just to show what they can do, well worth the look..

What happened to Cox and Perry from Horstead/Coltishall? I remember they were sold about 10 years ago but seem to have disappeared or have just answered my own question?

Cox and Perry moved from Horstead and setup in Lammas they then went through the hoop so to speak and no longer exist, the guys at Apollo were Cox and Perrys work force who started up on there own Keith and Tim, they have been going now for about 8yrs

Thanks Tony. I used cox and perry 20 years ago with my first car. They then changed hands and went down hill slightly. Might give them a go when I get round to doing something with the Healey.
