To be honest I think you would be better off going to Santa Pod. Javelin do timed sprint days but I haven't heard of them doing 1/4 mile runs.

Oh and I don't think you'll get anywhere near 12 seconds, 13-14 would be good tongue out

Talk is cheap, put money on it wink

Only looking for somewhere to practise ideally reasonably local, on the day it'll be the Pod or Shakey.....

Acle Straight?........hehe Just kidding before I get the Road Safety police replying...

Try Shawn Taylor. He runs training classes over at Coltishall so plenty of long straights there. He also uses RAF Watton too.

I would guess it would need some setting up such as accurate distances and timing gear but if they can sort it at North Weald then shouldn't be too hard at Coltishall.

I am sure if he sorted it , it would be a popular destination as I know plenty of Run What ya Brung guys around Anglia....

scratchchin might be onto something now

Javelin have definitely done some 1/4 mile stuff before and they do a 1 mile event too.

The Pod is the benchmark of course.

We did 1/4 mile events at Snetterton with BigPower. Straightliners came and did the timing. Not cheap though! Ok if you can get circa 30 cars and make a day of it. Have to factor in H&S too, but sure Shawn is up to speed on this (excuse the pun).

If not, just get a few of you to drive to the Pod and have a play on a RWYB day.

i would say get to santa pod. they do plenty of rwyb days and its not that expensive plus the track is made for drag racing. not just an old runway.
from what ive seen in the past i would say u would prob want near on or over 500bhp to get a 11-12 sec time.

It comes down to bhp/tonne not just max bhp. And after that its all about traction. Even 500bhp won't give you a sub 12 second quarter if you can't lay it down...

Well no I know that but, I was just estimating that by the time u had the spinning wheels under control u would need that amount of power to excelerate and get a decent time. I'm no expert just my view on it.

Yep you're not wrong Tom. I'm hoping to do a sub 12, car weighs in at 1060kg dry, and currently has just under 360bhp but not finished with the engine yet. In theory this will do a sub 12, but only if you can get decent traction and don't make a tit of yourself changing gear wink

I'd be interested to see what I can do. Mine is 260kg (inc me) and 155bhp.
