Need my Baxi Bermuda back boiler cleaned and serviced. I've noticed a weird smell coming from it lately when it first fires up, so can anyone recommend a good Engineer who's charges are reasonable and local to Norwich

cheers for any replies

My brother in law is a gas safe plumber starting out on his own, based in Ipswich but would travel.

Hope you get it sorted soon, bit far for me but as cold as it is i'd be very wary of using it if you're getting a funny smell, not sure how old it is but the majority of the old bermuda's have little to none safety features, they are basically the old "open" flued type and are well know for blocking up the flueways in the heat exchanger if not regularly serviced, once these are blocked it still operates but spills the products of combustion into the room eg. carbon monoxide.
Not trying to scare, just trying to avoid a nasty incident

Thanks Martyn, all sorted now!.. called Gasway out and took their fixed price option (£169) to repair it... Like you said the heat exchanger was blocked. They gave it a good clean and also replaced the pilot light igniter that was not working....

cheers
