Basically I'll need one day to set up the brakes (some modifications I planned for after the first trackday in France - Feb FFS it'll be cold and it's a one day thing so I'll waste a lot of time if I do brake mods before that) So please ignore the pedestrian Monza keeping out of everyone's way or spinning off the track until I get the bias right
At then end of the 2nd day the engine is going to fail "in some way" giving me a nice window of opportunity to build and install the 3.7 24V on bigger carbs as I have all the bits ready just need an excuse to "justify" the activity......
So all sorted then fellow PH'rs
"nasty rattle no idea what it is had to stop just before the end of the day - glad it didn't happen earlier - it's got to come apart - I'm sure it's not going to be as expensive as last time - no rush to do it next event is August and then September back at Marham"
Just in case any of you end up in conversation with Mrs BC
AFTER the event not BEFORE - Paul and Gillian (covering both bases this time )

Ladies and Gentlemen.
I have to unfortunate job of being the bearer of bad news. Please read the following and copy it to your various forums.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to admit defeat and postpone the Marham Track Weekend, scheduled for 17-18 September 2011; the second cancellation within this calendar year, although both through Operational necessity. Please be assured that these decisions were not taken lightly, nor were they rushed; hence the call to cancel around 4 weeks before the September event was due to start. Whilst this is not ideal, it was the only option available to me. My apologies extend to those who have committed financially to the September event – this was never our intention to leave you out of pocket.
You are all probably aware that the Royal Air Force is heavily engaged with the delivery of air power to 2 theatres of operations, Afghanistan and Libya. Both theatres involve aircraft from RAF Marham and both theatres require intense support to ensure operational effectiveness. With Libya, not only has RAF Marham a significant presence operating from Italy and in direct support of UN Security Council Resolution 1973, it also plays its part delivering strategic influence; it is the latter that has taken ultimate priority within RAF Marham and has resulted in the cessation of a number of activities to safeguard the generation of aircraft – the Track Weekends being one of them. As such, whilst I relay my deepest regret to the cancellation of two events, I hope that you all understand the important role that RAF Marham is actively taking in the protection of innocent civilians within the country of Libya.
I can only hope that your understanding allows you all to join us during our next scheduled weekend event, programmed for 28-29 April 2012 and again on 15-16 September 2012. In the meantime, may I take this opportunity to thank you for your fantastic and loyal support during past events and to take the liberty to ask of the same for future events? We intend to come back bigger and better than ever and we would love you to be a part of that.
Kind regards and the best of wishes for the remainder of the season,
Paul

For me, it will be the last time out in the red Nova. For cost reasons I've stuck it on my classic multi-car insurance policy now (never thought I'd be saying that!) so will have to take the cage out and spruce it up a bit. Will build another one before long though, with a redtop next time.
Might just be bringing the next Skoda rally car along too - shakedown for MSA British Autocross Championship if funds allow!
Plenty of prep time left!

Yes gents, it is indeed on! We're missing it as much as you! If you're feeling nostalgic and need a few memories, I've added a few hundred photos to the gallery on the website, more will be uploaded over the next few days.
We're deternined to make 2012 a great year and look forward to seeing you all again!
I'll push out the official invite email when I get back to work, but with the events of last year, we have fought to get the date published as early as possible. Gives you time to arrange your family/work/social lives around being a petrol head.......
Roll on april.......

Good news! Unfortunately I sold the somewhat unlikely Camry Sport I used on a couple of trackdays, and I don’t think any of the other cars I have on the road at the moment would really be quite right, but a Camry spares car I have sitting on the driveway would be ideal so long as I can borrow a trailer. Runs well, be interesting to see how it goes with some weight stripped out.
Ian, do you have any spare 17” tyres kicking around please?...

Currently collecting them but I don't have an excess yet but we've a few months yet Ian, do you have any spare 17” tyres kicking around please?...
This is indeed good news - I shall be there, but not in the big grey EVO - bringing the Holden instead this time, just to see what it's like. So I'm moving from a lack of horsepower to more tan I'll know what to do with.
Probably bringing students too in an Omega.
Ian, I have a load of brake test kit ( pedal force meter, brake line pressure gauges, cornerweight scales ), would you like some assistasnce with the setting up ?

Thank you - I'll let you know closer to the time - I'm trying to modify the brakes in stages especially now I've found the primary cause of my extremely soft pedal....... (which is why I completely lost confidence in the car/brakes)Stage 1
Fix the broken pedal box (spot welds had all become un spotted so the pedal wasn't transfering the foot force to the brakes - just bending the pedal box) - Completed with some other modifications learnt from a toasted rally car
Stage 2
Remove abs unit and std brake proportional valve - In progress
Stage 3
Re-pipe the brakes and fit stand alone brake proportional valve in rear brake line but keeping std servo unit
Need to do all the above before France
Stage 4 (after France and before Marham)
Move to pedal box with integral brake bias adjustment (got all the parts just need to fabricate some parts)
