I have just got back from the Charity Day at Snetterton.
A big thank you to everyone who organised this and took part.
Great atmosphere some lovely cars and people.
I went round in the the Mercury cougar XR7 and also a yellow and white open top racing car on the big circuit. Unfortunatly i forgot to ask what it actually was!
Once again Thank you to everyone.

thunbs up again really enjoyed it and if you stood in the right place you could watch cars on both the 100 and 300 track at the same time.

Guys,

A huge thank you to you.....whether driver, passenger or club static.....

We got off to a shakey start but soon got sorted and the afternoon saw loads more passengers out on the track.

We were blessed with great weather if a bit cold (especially if you'd stood outside from 5am until 6pm....brrrrrrr...

I am sorry I didn't get to speak or thank you personally, but a big big thanks to those who made it.

Plans are already formulating around by head for next years one.....

Kev F

ps... Now just got to hope someone puts some pictures up as I didn't get time..LOL

it was a great day, ive done loads of track day laps round Snetterton but never at the pace of the escort Cosworth i went in.
He said when we went out only running low boost at around 440bhp, when we came back in he said, well i might of wound the boost up on the second lap as wanted to get past the McLaren down the straight! and i then got an extra lap as needed to cool it down after inexcess of 500bhp.
Best £40 ive spent for a long time

sadly we didn't get there as early as planned but we got there in time to get the boy his birthday ride around the track, he came off full of it and never stopped going on about it. great event, great weather considering the date and an awesome turn out of cars. well done to those that organised it. look forward to next year.

That would be Mike Rainbird. I think it is 540bhp

Just found the laps on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5VV79oHSwA

I had a great time. I loved the old Jag XK140. It was certainly interesting lapping without any seatbelts!!

Well done to Kev and all the others for making it such a fantastic day and I hope you rasied loads of money smile

Roll on next year!

I think it all went very well. Credit to the organisers.

We were blessed with dry, if cold, weather. Public were a bit thin on the ground untill mid morning, but to be expected i suppose.

I struggled to get any passengers in until people could see that the Metro was doing ok against some of the exotica and Kev plus the crew bigged it up. All that went in it got out grinning.

Roll on next year

All very true Eddy. Thank you for staying behind me and not making me suffer the indignity of being overtaken by Granny's shopping car! hehe

I'm not sure I can any new opinons to ones above.

An excellent day out. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Many thanks to Kev the his team for sorting out this fantastic event, all for a great cause thumbup

November is a strange time of year when it comes to predicting the weather. I certain by this time last year we had snow on the ground! Thankfully, it was in our favour.

I had the opportunity to go in few cars, from a gorgeous Jag XK120 to Matthew's fantastic little track machine and Stuart's VXR8. I also went out in Chris's MR2 Race car....what a car; what an ability to drive. Coram, sideways...fantastic! biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
My final trip out was in one of the AM V8 Race Cars, which was a superb end to a great day.
I was planning to go out in a few more road cars, however I ran out of time!

Many thanks to the group of PistonHeaders who showed their cars with me on the static display. Good to see you all, and hope to see you all again soon.

I'm hopeful that this year's event has sowen the seeds for an annual event, as I would love to attend smile

Good day, although as Eddy says, somewhat quiet in the morning.

I've driven the old circuit and 300, but never the 200, and the new 2nd corner is lots of fun. Got quite lairy there first time out.

It would be good to run it earlier in the year and get more customers, we outnumbered them by 2-1 in the morning.

Great meeting Bruce, Keith et al and sitting in Bruce's Macca was a highlight of the day for me.

Roll on the next one!

Yes Darren, the big V8 did just have the legs on me on the straights, buy i was pushing it round the bends lol.

I was down on wheel power on the day due to the tyres i had on.

Perhaps you will have the balls to come in the Metro next time when i have my fast tyres on lol.

Great event as others have said, morning had gone fine, Gordon-Keeble seemed popular and running like a train. After lunch, bang, broken stub axle. Towed off the circuit. Borrow a trolley jack. Look under car, easy to spot the problem. Drop the car down, valve releases suddenly on jack, car drops fast and hits little finger, which is now at 90 degrees to normal!cry Off to track medical centre, strap it up. Call recovery truck, load up no problem. Get home, reversing off the truck, wheel falls off. Much jacking, wheel dollies etc later, finally get it onto the drive. Off to A&E, displaced fracture of the finger. Four hours later, finally back home!

Did anyone get any pictures of the G-K going round the track to cheer me up?

Thanks for the support....

Unfortunately, MSV didn't believe this event would be as big as it was so we were pushed into a Saturday event. (originally we had 20th Nov luckily it changed as the fog on that day would have called off the day).
The reason the BHF days were scheduled around the mid to end of November is that the race car owners/ drivers season has finished and allowed they one last fling before stripping their cars down for the winter.

Our event was different as we didn't just restrict it to race cars.

It would be great to do the event in the summer sun but with a full race season the amount of car that would be available would be very small.

We will be having a debrief later this week and we will then be speaking to MSV to see if they will be able to sort out a better day and more importantly a better deal for hire...frown

Thanks.
