MSV Trackday on the Snetterton 300 circuit this Friday.

Anyone else going to this, or do I have the entire 300 circuit to myself?

Hi All, Has anybody been on the " Taster " sessions before ? One advertised for the 7th Oct or done the novice days ?

I have done a couple of the Experience type events with an instructor but certainly do not consider myself to be anything close to a good track driver in fact probably right at the other end of the scale.

Is it safe to just turn up and go on the track ? As my user name states the car is fairly expensive so with respect dont want to risk having a maxed up Escort flying into me, or for that matter me making a mistake if the track is very congested at these type of events , are they ?

i 've done a couple of taster days in fact i may even do the one on that day also the good thing about them is your led around for a couple of laps to get the feel of the track and because its such a short space of time your probably not likely to get lapped (especially in a gallardo)despite your ability and you will probably be able to make your own track so there won't be anyone to bother you

Last Friday was very busy and there were plenty of fast track day-and competition cars, including Porkers and an Aston. Lots of Mini competion cars were treating this as a test day for some upcoming 'track attack' event. That said, ontrack behavior was fine, i.e faster cars only passing on the left on the 'straights'. I saw plenty of blue flags in my standard MG ZS 180!

I'm sure that in a Gallardo, you'd comfortable be amongst the fastest, especially after a session with an instructor. If you did find a well driven stripped-out hot hatch on slicks in your mirros them you could just ease off and let him past (if that is in you nature!) I did notice that the Porche GT3s road cars could almost stay with the TVR Tuscan racer.

If you were to pitch up at a taster/novice day, then the bully of the beach title would be yours for the taking! wink
