Advice on moving to Cambridge/Ely.

I lived in Ely for 8 months & Little Downham for about 3 years. Both great places and 20 minutes from Cambridge. Ely is lovely & much busier than Lt Downham, an extremely quiet village with a post office & a pub, but that's my kind of thing.

Littleport is a dump. March is ok but boring, Chatteris too. Soham is all right. Ely nice, big cathedral, some reasonable places to eat, very flat & windy on bad days but flat and bloody lovely on good days.

Little Downham is on of the places we are looking at.

Just bear in mind the commute in from out Ely way if you're going to be using the A10 can be a little slow. You sort of end up in an endless stream of traffic doing 40mph.
Burwell is a lovely large village and worth looking at.
