I guess a thread is needed although probably not for the normal reasons we used to have a thread wink

Ladies and Gentlemen.
Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Rob Swanson, I am part of the RAF Marham trackday team.

It is with great pleasure that we can announce our next charity track event, which is scheduled for the weekend of 17-18th September 2011. Following the unfortunate cancelation of the event in April this year, we have been working behind the scenes in an effort to secure a date. We understand that this is quite short notice, but it has not been an easy task! The website has since undergone a complete redesign by the kind folk at MPR IT Solutions, who have not charged us for their services! We can't thank them enough for their work!

Now that we have a confirmed date, we can extend an invite to you and all of your members to attend our event.
We on the track day team have listen very carefully to all of your suggestions over the years and we are pleased to announce a number of improvements to our event.

The first change is the new Marham Track Days Website. This website will have all the usual facilities for booking and paying (PayPal) for entry. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CHEQUES ANYMORE. The website will also contain all driving information, maps, photos of past events and FAQs. No need for moderators to collect details anymore. We will take all the info we need from our website.

The major change is to the format of the day. For the first time in our 6 year history we will be changing the track direction half way through the day (lunch break). This means that you get 2 TRACKS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!! This should help out with tyre, suspension and break wear too smile

Prices are unchanged for 2011 at £60 per car and first driver. £10 for each additional person, up to a MAXIMUM OF 4 People in any vehicle. If you book the whole weekend your passengers come free on the second day smile

E.g.

Car + Driver = £60
+3 passengers = Total = £90 for one day

If coming for two days

Car + Driver = £120
+3 passengers = Total = £150 for the whole weekend saving £30

We have 180 car places per day, 360 places in total.

The website can be found at
www.marhamtrackday.co.uk

The payment side of things is being finalised as we speak, and should be available to accept money very soon. Once this is working I will send out another email to inform you all of this.

We can't take any bookings until then and won't take any details over the phone or by email. Website entries/payment only.

If you have any questions or queries, please get in touch with either myself or George Denman, by emailing us at

adminATmarhamtrackdayDOTcoDOTuk

Replace AT with @ and DOT with the obvious

I have a phone number in the event of email not working out for anyone but I need to check if the team want that made public

Rob Swanson
That's it for me - I'll help with whatever I can interface wise as I have done previously.

Please remember the event has raised a huge ammount for charity over the years as well as being a great day out for petrolheads :-)

I'll be there, needless to say - not for the whole weekend this time though due to work commitments.

Just need to resurrect one of the cars from death row now (as the missus insists on calling it)!

Ps - thankyou Marham for giving me the opportunity to wear my left tyres out as well as my rights! wink

Just a quick note to say that the payment page is not quite there yet but keep an eye on it. It'll not be long now.

As soon as the Paypal page is sorted then you'll be able to enter.

Thanks

George

The inevitable clash of diaries means I'm also out too frown

(we have a house diary and events/functions get put in it as they are known about - whoever gets in first gets the day/weekend etc and Mrs BC has booked a weekend away)

Yep - pretty sure it will be the first one I've missed

The BC house rules were introduced a while back and have been fairly successfull in stopping double booking and consequential squabbles (especailly as I can pretty much put all the events I plan to go to when we buy the diary it's only Marham weekends that are missing and I have to take a chance on.

When will the payment gateway be up and running? I've got a bunch of guys wanting to book the day into their diaries so the wives don't hijack the day. Including mine!

I've been trying to register, but when I click the Paypal link I get an error message from Paypal saying that there is a problem with the link. Anyone else had this, and is there a way round it?

Odd, I tried it in firefox and it worked fine, IE was buggy though. I'll speak to the developer on monday.
