I had treated the fabric roof of my old Vauxhall to three coats of silicone, caught in the torrential rain at the weekend proved that I had wasted my time and money. So I really need to start thinking about having a replacement 'hooding material' fitted. I have found one local company who are going to provide an estimate for the work, any suggestions/recommendations please.

Never used them personally as plans changed but if you’re prepared to travel Jack Smith Trimmers of Swansea (SA1 4NQ 01792 461022) seem good value and highly regarded. No website but google them and you’ll see what I mean.

Thanks Gewy, but too far for me, I want to stay in East Anglia for the work to be done.

Hello David

Have you considered Haward Sands he's near Crowfield - not so far away!

Hi Andrew, thanks, Howard Sands fitted a headlining to one of my past vintage cars and made a very good job of it. I hadn't been able to get hold of him on the telephone and assumed he had moved on. I will have a trip over to see him.

He's definitely still there, he's just finished trimming the seats on the aircraft I'm helping to build in lovely black leather.

Hi Eccles, thanks for confirmation. I'm having a drive over to see him next week, once this rain moves away!
