Waxoyl treatment
Discussion
Hi all
Have recently purchased a 95 TVR Chim and I know that the chassis needs tidying up and waxoyling - was last done 2 years ago.
Had a word with Peter at Roath Garage and he reckons I can expect to pay him at least £200 but for this the car will have a good going over and he will sort any areas that need sorting....
I'd been expecting to pay nearer £100.....
So, do I take on the job myself (probably only cost about £50 for materials I reckon) ? Do I get Roath to do it and be happy in knowledge they have done a comprehensive job....
OR....does anyone know of someone reliable who would do the job for £100.....?? After all, it's not a complex job, just messy, and time consuming especially without a ramp..
Any suggestions/ideas?

Sooo.......anyone got any "reliable garages" they can recommend......??!!!
Personally I've found Peter @ Roath to be pretty good. Potentially it also depends on how much 'tidying up' is needed. Did Peter look at the Chim? or was it an over-the-phone quote?
I think you're right.....I've called and seen Peter on a number of occasions prior to purchase, but he's yet to see the car. Hence he has said allow for £200 cos he doesn't know how much work will be involved. Given that I was expecting (and read elsewhere to expect) nearer £100 mark, that's when I started thinking "hang on"....
But, I know, I should just get on with it and be happy that he'll do a thorough job, and also tell me anything else I should know about....
