Cooking guidance??

Hi all.
Mrs Alsa's legendarily poor expertise in the kitchen is now getting her down to the point that she wants to take some proper cooking lessons. (Anyone remember 'Butterflies' TV program???? well if you do, I need say no more)
Soooo, anyone have any ideas please? Nothing fancy - no nouvelle cuisine - just good basic foodstuff guidance!
A few hrs per week/proper course/anything really.

My kitchen skills were equally inept, but found Nigel Slater's, Real Fast Food book to be great. Explains everything from first principles like boiling an egg through to more complex things, but in all cases the meals take less than 30 mins to prepare and cook.

Does the 30 mins include getting the pizza out of the freezer?
