Snowing in Cardiff

Due to set off for Cardiff at 6pm tonight from Dorset, however if the weather is going to be really bad I will abort the weekend away.
Can anyone in Cardiff advise me if the weather is bad yet?

It's started snowing already in cardiff. Nothing too bad though and unlikely to be as there will be a lot of traffic for the next few hours.

I'm working 5 miles north of the City Centre and it's coming down fairly hard now. Doesn't seem to be sticking to the roads but it is on the hillsides, so may get worse later on.

Rain in the SA1 swansea, but apparently bit of snow up pontardawe way.

In Cardiff now. It is snowing, and my Garden is covered, but roads are wet and seem fine. The temp is about to drop as the sun goes down so could start to stick. I'll report back in an hour;
Cardiff rarely gets bad. But they often shut the bridge if it gets icy.

Update: It is actually properly snowing, Its sticking to the roads and coming down fairly hard. With temps dropping fast I'd advise you give it a miss. (I've been around cardiff area all day and havn't seen one gritting lorry.

I'm sure if you do come to cardiff it will be ok, Its only 10 mins from motorway so your going to be ok really. But if your nervous driving in the snow than give it a miss.

yep its looking white outside but as above the roads will be fine with all the friday traffic i doubt you'd have any issues

Looking at the weather and state of the traffic, i'd leave it mate. Could you see what its like first thing in the morning and come then instead?

Looks like it's beginning to stick now in the bay, traffic was horrendous this evening.

The wife has left for london today with my daughter ,back sunday ,In this weather, and she tells me she hates shopping , yer right if i wasnt working it could have been a hell of a weekend

Update: Dont come dude. Its real bad, The gritters blatantly havn't been doing there job. Caerphilly mountain is sheet ice, even caerphilly town is sheet ice. Rhiwbina, thornhill, a470, orth road, all dangerously slippy. nd its minus 4 out there so its now frozen solid. They can grit this all they like its not going to dissapear untill the weather improves.

Havn't been out yet but what was there last night will still be around as it's been a very cold night.
I can hear the m4 from my house so i know its running at a decent pace. Your call. If your heading to Cardiff city you should be fine, But the surrounding areas are strewn with abandonded cars and black ice.
