Its not booting, not even a little bit, my gut reaction is the power button is at fault as I managed to get it to boot once since this issue started and then it was absolutely normal. Being a laptop it seems to be very difficult to get into the case/at the button.

They are very diffcuilt to work on, sometimes impossible.

If it doesnt work off mains power and you definatley know the battery is ok, I think you may be right. I would be very careful in regards to where you take laptops, alot of people basically make things up if they cant find the fault. I got told to put a £1500 laptop in the skip because the lcd circuit was fried, when i split the machine the small adapter on the back of the LCD panel had come loose? scratchchin

Where is the power button located on the laptop?

As it currently stands the laptop (Packard Bell) warranty maybe honoured by PC World, even though it is a couple of days out of date. I am currently awaiting a call back regarding their decision. The guy at the store is convinced it is the motherboard at fault.
