Is it too tricky for a trackday virgin?
On youtube the last few bends into home straight look dauntingly fast!
No idea..... I've generally stuck to Colerne airfield and Llandow in the past, as I'm too tight to pay for Pembrey or Castle Combe normally. On youtube the last few bends into home straight look dauntingly fast!
I'm not too concerned about Woodlands and Honda, but the Hatchets Hairpin fills me with fear - even though I'll be going relatively slowly!
Just hope it doesn't rain, as Hatchets is known for flooding!

I was worried about doing Llandow the first time, as it's quite fast, very narrow and has little or no run-off - I believe proper racing is no longer allowed there because of this.
But I've been twice in the last couple of months without incident - and haven't witnessed an incident in 4 visits.
You don't have to take anything flat until you're comfortable with it, anyway - I have passed a Viper in an Alfa 75 and a TVR in a CInquecento because the drivers were being cautious in the rain - so don't let lack of (initial) confidence be a barrier.

Oh.
That doesn't sound good.
I take it the big 'R' was mentioned, then?
If so, good luck - both myself and Mrs Abarth went through that a couple of years ago.
Cheers mate. No big 'R'............ yet, but delay in wages. Sometimes it’s really hard to find motivation at work, but hopefully we’ll be able to ride out the storm. That doesn't sound good.

BTW have fun at Pembrey!

I really enjoyed Pembrey when I did it with the Westfield club. I've also done Keevil, Cadwell Park and Llandow.
Love the airfield days - nothing to hit
Llandow scared the st out of me - don't like the very close banks
Pembrey I enjoyed very much and would def go again, quite a decent amount of runoff. Just need to watch the bump in the middle of ?honda? (the corner leading on to the start finish straight).

Take the MX5 instead of Noddy's car...
It's 550 miles away.I'll have it back in November.
Noddy will be fun, I'm sure, but isn't really running right. Back in the '80s and '90s, when my Mum and Dad raced it, it set class records at hillclimbs and sprints in scotland. It used to have about 140bhp at the flywheel, and as the car weighs about 600kg, it accelerated well.
These days, it just doesn't pull. Feels more like 80bhp...
I daresay I'll have to just try to stay out everyones way!!!
As did I mate!
What an excellent day for it. Rain cleared by the time we were on track (after soaking me on the way there), nice and dry shortly after, and strong sunshine most of the day after.
The Cinq was brilliant fun to follow, and it was great to enjoy Noddy in that environment. We were far from the slowest there too.
Noddy does need more power. If I got caught at anywhere less than 4.5k rpm, the engine just didn't go. Got a short block awaiting a cylinder head, so I should have it running properly for next year.
