Has anybody else noticed the council diging up the old tarmac and then leave the road surface full of small stones left on the surfaces i have noticed it between wylie-ynysdd, the road past king david tyres in pontlanfrith, and the road going of the newbridge by-pass to cwmcarn. What are the council up too this is going to be awful during the winter and you cant foolow anybody just in pass the stone of the car in front hits your windscreen and what its doing to the paint when all i can hear is it pinging of the car. Any other places this is happening in and whats your thoughts on it.

Tends to happen a lot just after resurfacing. The loose stones are left way too long before being removed. Also happens when the existing road surface breaks up.

I wish they would repair roads properly, stop the cheap and temporary patching up and forget the awful beige rumble strip crap that is infesting junctions and roundabouts.
.... and while I'm at it get rid of unnecessary traffic lights that only create congestion!!!

Do I feel better now? Not really!

You're lucky you missed the Machen road last weekend. Long stretch of road resurfaced and "convoy accompaniment to preserve the safety of roadworkers". This appeared to involve keeping you waiting 15minutes until a huge queue built up then a vehicle would take you through slowly. Complete PITA and I only went that way to avoid the 50mph M4!!!

In cold weather, grit is mixed in with the salt when the roads are treated, this helps to rip the road surface up because it is left on the roads. The state of many roads in this country is disgusting.

I think its Caerphilly counils attempt at re-surfacing the roads, they also did it over the moutain and heading into cardiff last week too.
