I would put this in the spotted thread, but I feel this probably needed it's own thread.

For the couple of Caterhams I saw about 6.30 tonight going through Usk out towards Raglan, the yellow one with the hardtop, and the red one, and the couple of others that were in tow, can I just say you are all bellends, if you read this, please revise and study this here sign, and tell me what the fk it means you tossers!

Very pissed off with these guys.

Caterham with a hard top, can't be many of those about?

Whenever I've been though Usk it would have been dificult to drive at more that 30 mph.

They were going out the back end of Usk towards Raglan, I am never one really for getting on a high horse about speed and going fast, but these lot were just weapons grade tools.

ffs, why don't you find something important to have a moan about rather than a few car enthusiasts out having a blast, you sound just like all the old fars that get upset when they're overtaken after trundling along at snails pace............piss poor show old chap

This is a car forum I'd expect all posters to be car enthusiasts, not whinging old gits like the originator of this threadfrown
Everyone knows Caterhams don't have hardtops so he obviously can't identify his Caterham7 from his Morris Minor;)

Leave the poor harmless lad alone, he's just having a day off from train spotting & while he's having a pop at a few Caterham drivers he's letting the rest of the motoring population drive in peace.

Not well said at all. 30 in a 30. NSL = whatever you like. There's no call for speeding in built up areas.

Amen - not only is it potentially dangerous but it also turns up the heat on those of us who enjoy progressive driving on the (literally) open road.

I'm not attempting to comment on a specific incident as I wasn't there but as a general rule I stand by my comment; and you'd be hard pushed to find a bigger car enthusiast than me, even in this company.

30 in 30 limit I agree with - but my point was that Caterhams DON'T have hardtops - which means the originator of the thread is falsy accusing Caterham drivers of speeding, and since Caterham have NEVER made hardtops for their cars it simply wasn't Caterhams the originator saw speeding, maybe it was the local Morris Minor club out for a run, as I originally postedbiggrin

Great Photo of a 1970 LOTUS 7 series 4 fitted with a hardtop - coolthumbup
Mind if I add the photo to my Thread on the Lotus 7 S4biggrin:
Out Of Interest - Lotus made 13 for the S4 7 only - Caterham have never made a hardtop for their 7.

S47 - my point being that the OP says "Caterhams" but we all know that in a blur it could mean any Seven type kitcar when they are whizzing past wink

I merely googled Caterham hardtop to illustrate my point wink

S47/Mr. Pedantic, when you are lying underneath a Land Rover removing the front prop, a 7 styled kit car, as that is all Caterhams are, is a Caterham, now is there or is there not a distinct possibility that someone has made their own removable hard top? Being that the Caterham is essentially a kit car, Sorry but I enjoy my cars and I could probably spot more obscure cars than you can, on the drive at the moment is
Mitsubishi Legnum VR4
BMW 840CI
Lolvo C70 T4
Beachbuggy
Land Rover

Then in my lock up I have a Triumph Spitfire and an old Type 3 VW and E34 5 series

I am all for going fast, but 30 in a 30, NSl= who cares.

Being a grumpy old fart? I am 22, I enjoy the road next to my house in the NSL area, it is a good test road for if/when one of the cars need tweeking etc, now I am going to lose that road to safety speed campaigners because of dicks like these, we have already had the police on the road monitoring speed, they are extending the 30mph limit, all because knobs decided to nail it through the 30 into the 60.

There are 3 housing estates along that road and a few houses, as well as horse riders (which btw I do hate, but I am considerate enough to them) fact of the matter it is one of these people that are going to kill someone, all it will take is for someone to pull out of one of the blind junctions, the amount of times my neighbours and myself have almost had our front ends taken off whilst trying to see what is coming on the blind junction.

Sorry but no one can justify nailing it through a 30, a 30 which has the potential of now having speed bumps, a camera, and the 30 limit extended, you are just spoiling for all of us who like progressive driving in the correct areas.

there are speed cameras everywhere in the 30 zones around Usk so i just don't believe the OP, I'm not in favour of speeding in 30 zones but I just don't believe for 1 minute any of the lotus 7 club guys would be nailing it through a 30 zone, maybe it wasn't a 30 and he's elaborating to justify his post or is just an old tart with the hump
