Beached whale(tail)!
Discussion
Hi everyone.
Today was the day. Take off the dust cover, disconnect the tricklecharger and get the 993 down to OPC Cardiff for the annual checkup. Great service, as always, from the service team and a clean bill of health (and MOT) for the motor.
I was told, however, that the lightweight battery hadn't been holding its charge and had needed the occasional start using the jumper cables throughout the day. Clearly lightweight batteries don't like sitting around and not getting used. So a new battery was duly ordered (to arrive later in the week) and advice taken to try to get home without stalling or switching off.
Unfortunately, I needed petrol as the fuel warning light had just come on and so I stopped at the BP station on Hadfield Road(?) next to the Seat dealership. Needless to say, I switched off to fill up and couldn't get her started again. Beached at the pumps.
Within a couple of seconds I had a posse of good Samaritans who helped me push and attempt a couple of bump starts (unsuccessfully) and within minutes, a salesman and mechanic from the Seat dealership appeared with the offer of jumper cables... gratefully received. Started and made it home without any further drama.
Just wanted to say a big thanks to all who helped. Hopefully they are on here and will get the message.
Cheers

ps Got home to a power cut.....not getting on with electricity today.....
