Driving home from club meet tonight from Radyr towards Llantrisant Road and set the speed camera off outside the Comprehensive school. Now I know this road well and also the camera location and swear I was doing 30 or less. The lines are only on the school side and the camera faces up the hill so flashed me from behind etc.

There was a car on the op side travelling quite quickly, could that have set it off?

Two weeks of worry to follow!?

I wouldnt worry as the car travelling towards you would have set it off if it was travelling at speed like you state. Its designed to give a warning flash to vehicles travelling towards them at speed on the opposite carriageway if theres no film loaded in the camera!
I cant be 100% but I think you'll be safe so relax!

In the unlikely case of you getting a letter ask for the photograph from which you will be able to work out your speed using the white lines, (check peppipoo for calculation) if this doesn't match then bring it to their attention and the case should be dropped there and then.

A Gatso will fire for cars going in the other direction but is not approved for such use so can't be used as evidence in this manner (actually they're not approved to work on bends either but some poor sod got right royally done when he used this a defence), that won't stop them firing and blinding the oncoming driver like a good safety device should.

It will be the other car as said. He won't get done either as also said. The two photos are useless when going the through the other way as the first catches your OS rear(and your middle finger if your that way inclined lol) and the second would see nowt as you'd be long gone.



I regularly go through that one on the other side and set it off, it's set quite low there as it pings me at about 35, the ones rhiwbina are set at about 40 iirc.
