pen-y-fan, anyone walked it on here?
Discussion
Yes lots of times.
If you park up in the car park by the wood (about 1000 yards before you get to Storey Arms) the route is not too bad and probably better if its your first time or you arent that fit.
If you park directly opposite Storey Arms and take the path to the left of it its quite a bit steeper.

Walk up from the rear is quite stressless.
how do you get there? any pointers, from google maps? thanks guys
clicky
Anyway, round about there. Zoom out and all that. Been a few years now but parking was tight back then.
Think it follows the old drovers road that is on an old Roman road? At least to the pass but then you will be heading off to the peaks.

note the weird army style guy standing there and guessing there is a path. fairly sure thats pen-y-fan to the right?? (as said...not been there before!)
cheers
edit: well the peak shown here:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&a...
and some pretty obvious paths leading to and fro. so just need to find somewhere to park near one of those paths.
thanks.

no worries. i always take a GPS watch with me too which has a good 7-8 hours battery life on it. plots a map of where you trundle along (although i mainly use it for running) and you can mark way-points on it so if you get lost...it's ruddy easy to find your way back. that, coupled with a map, makes finding you way a whole lot easier i can assure you!
