advice on cardiff nightlife
Discussion
Hello, recently moved to cardiff and I have a load of mates coming up night of the 13 march!
It is an away match day and I am just worried that we will struggle to get in anywhere decent if 20 of us bowl up at 11 and try and get in somewhere!
So I'm looking for somewhere to spend the night, 11-4 am. For a mixed group of 20, but I don't want any mainstream places (walkabout/oceana etc)
Anyone reccomend a more indipendant place that plays decent dance/mainstream music that is open late and we can reserve an area/get on guestlist?
Cheers all

Hi mate, welcome to Cardiff.
Greyfriars Road;
Tiger Tiger - Well it's also quite mainstream but it has a variety of dance floors etc, and you can reserve space in the club, but they book up quite fast and are quite strict on the guestlist / VIP route.
Glam bar - not to sure what the style of resident music is as I've never been there, but seems popular enough.
Mill Lane;
There's 3/4 clubs along there that may appeal that aren't typical mainstream venues, some say members only but theres usually an option to pay on the door. Its just to keep the idiots out.
A lot of the clubs offer reserved space but you will have to ring well in advance.
I wouldn't suggest saying there will be 20 of your mates though, even the best behaved may find it difficult to reserve space. And if 20 of you just turn up at the same time, the door staff will typically turn large groups of men down.
Hope this helps.
