obviously the weather has been quite bad lately with the snow, the car has not moved since last sunday but the main roads are fine and tomorrow its meant to be sunny but cold. The roads i was thinking of was just up the a470 and come off to join the a4059, onto the a4061 then the a4107 and back. Anyone have any idea how good or bad these are? I dont want to drive there to find they are undriveable! Thanks guys

Can't remember which roads those are that you've mentioned but all the mountain roads over the beacons are very dodgy even when the weather is not half as bad as this. Trust me, I have personal experience of a very out of control car on a beautiful sunny winter day with no snow to be seen - but it was very cold, a may have been icy-ish. My pride and joy hasn't moved for 3 weeks now frown

Not a good idea, more snow looking at coming in, the main roads have been done, but we haven't risen above -1 here, you could end up in a lot of bother quite quickly, leave it a week or so smile

i wouldnt, the 4059 was closed earlier this week and could still be bad if it freezes over.
i passed through that way today heading to rheola and the main roads are ok, i couldnt see too far up the 4059 to comment

According to the display in the car it plummeted to -15 degrees on Thursday morning. The boot is still frozen shut and the icicle side skirts show little sign of turning to water.

A work colleague mentioned today that the Heads of the Valleys is passable but it's a bit precarious on the minor roads.

ok then, drive off tomorrow!!

sorry not posted in the s.wales for a while, was away for the summer from uni back to the south cost.
The little E21 still going strong smile the only fault was i had 3 people and a car PACKED full of luggage....hit a rather high speed bump and split my front exhaust down pipe frown other than that it's just been basic servicing. was doing 400miles a week for a lot of the summer. 28 years old and it's still reliable smile

how are you? the breakfast meets still going on?

Ross.
