Many Maserati's were named after a particular type of thing. What is this thing? Models such as Shamal, Karif, Ghibli?
Yes you can google but that kind of defeats the object.

yes david brown is the right answer and thought most would get it but i only found out yesterday that it is also the gearbox used (a david brown gearbox commonly found in tractors) and thats what suprised me

David Brown 6 speed gear boxes were found in many of the old British trucks normally behind the legendary Gardener engine. David Brown was probably best known for his farm tractors.
