Anybody else had there TDI engines remapped? and what gains you got did you have a remap or a plug in module? just wanted to see if you were happy. I have had my MK1 Leon TDI 130 taken up to 175 bhp.

The 130 pd engine is very tuneable 175hp sounds about right for a remap a mate had her Fabia vrs remapped at superchips in Weston it made 172hp so pretty similar also got improved mpg figures after remap

A previous Golf i owned (the R2D) had over 200bhp proven on a Rolling Road after a AMD remap, new exhaust system and filter. That was from the GT Tdi 150 version. That was brilliant and really added to the higher end, although i was pretty happy with the standard version.

The PD engines are brilliantly tuneable, but you have to keep an eye on your clutch from all that torque!

I do get clurch slip every know and again after I have had the remap thinking of getting a sports clutch put in. have you seen the price of them though.

I had a chip tuning box on a Golf GTTDi 115bhp taking it to 140bhp.
That was fine, perhaps a little more smokey.

But my mate had his Seat Leon (06) mapped and it smoked very badly, and blew his turbo 5 weeks later.

His did seam like a 1 off though!

I had an anniversary PD150 golf with a dyno print out for 205hp. (livemapped, not just simply reprogrammed) I reckon it was more like 185, and the clutch slipped in top. Proper weapon though.

Hi all, we use DPT tuning boxes from Essing Dieseltuning, we also sell these boxes so I don't want to break any PH rules, there are several distributors who are all very reputable and make a great job of setting up these kits. Have a look at the website and draw your own conclusions, the vehicle search will give you power/tourque figures for your car.

Cheers Chris

ETA The figures for the 1.9 Tdi are

System: PD Connector: PD - 2 pin
Standard BHP: 115 Standard Torque: 285
Tuned BHP: 150 Tuned Torque: 350
BHP Increase: 35 Torque Increase: 65

"More news on the DPT economy module I told you about last week. I've now had one fitted to my oil-burning Range Rover and early indications suggest that economy has improved from 23.4mpg to 29.8mpg. If I drive like Sister Wendy, I can get the trip to nudge over 30. Given the remarkable results I've had on my Jag as well, it looks like this £300 black box will pay for itself in less than a year at today's derv prices. As far as I'm concerned, It is the only diesel economy device that really works. "

Quentin Willson - Motoring Journalist & Presenter

"The DPT device is working faultlessly in my car, producing 211bhp or thereabouts, with around 300lbs ft of torque from 1450-3900rpm. Its fuel economy has improved dramatically to exceed the Official Combined figure of 49.6mpg. In fact, it is currently returning 51.3mpg average, a phenomenal result, in normal daily operation. The acceleration has improved, dropping the 0-60mph blast down to a petrol equalling 6.8 seconds, while the top speed (confirmed by the GPS smart-nav device fitted to my car) is a genuine 161mph. So, has it improved? You had better bloody believe it! And I have been writing as much. "

Iain Robertson - Motoring Journalist (Skoda Octavia vRS)

"Just a note to say thank how pleased we are with the installation program you have put in place for our DPT units. As you know the 160 units we have ordered are for our VW T5 based minibuses spread all over the UK, which only return to HQ periodically. Your flexibility in carrying out the installations is much appreciated."

Richard Baxter, Transport Manager Titan Travel

"I could never have imagined the increased performance your unit has given my Audi A5 3.0tdi Quattro. It absolutely flys!!! And I’m returning at least 15% on fuel economy. A superb product that really works!! "

Ash McKee, Telford
