Noticed something sneaky today. That bridge on the m4 by Bridgend (j34-j35?) which always has a White camera van on it can still get you even if you can't see the van.

Today there were three small cameras on tripods pointing down on the three west bound lanes and sitting a few metres away, out of site, was the White van.

Be careful out there, they're getting pretty crafty!

That was probably car tax van if it had the little cameras, I've seen them on the way to work set up behind an astravan all logo'd up. I approve of those vans.

3 cameras on tripods almost always means ANPR, not speed cameras.

Agh, I see. They should probably go on a different bridge then as where they were meant people kept flooring their brakes thinking they were speed cameras

Yeap almost certainly ANPR cameras so picks up anyone without Insurance, Tax, MOT etc. Also picks up anyone involved in organised crime etc.

Personally I think it's a great thing!

Given what you have in your garage at the moment I can understand why you are of that opinion wink

ACPO guidelines insist that a speed detection device is set up in a clearly marked vehicle.
