Hi Ben,
Do a bit of digging 'cos there's all sorts of grants available for energy conservation. If you were retired then you would certainly get both for free but I'm pretty sure it's possible to get both subsidised.

Yep, just did a bit of Googling and I'm sure you can get help with the loft but maybe not the walls as your house is post '85

Hi

Just had mine done with DOMESTIC and GENERAL INSULATION LTD the bridgend branch
cover most of south wales.

I filled a form out online they came to the house to survey contacted me
about two weeks later with a date and time

They arrived last friday about ten all done by two pm all mess cleared
loft and cavity done very impressed £150 in total as we both work but a bargain
as they also pumped my new extension in the price which saved me a fortune in insulation board
