Hi all
For a while now I have been arranging runs and have met some real nice people through doing it. But due to being busy I'm getting less and less time to arange them. If anyone else is interested in doing this from now on, please feel free to go ahead and arange them.
Just as a helper I try to stick to these basic rules of arranging a run
1. state a date and time for meeting, do not ask "when would you like to do a run?". If people can't make it, then they can come to the next one.
2. when creating your route make sure you exclude farm type tracks as some of the cars maybe expensive and low to the ground. Maybe go drive a route or try the roads yourself beforehand.
3. include stopping points or regrouping points that are common and easy to find, and a lunch stop. For this I normally google "pub" to find a nice pub or resturant. I give them a call, confirming car parking, what time they stop serving etc. Try leading up to the resturant or pub in the route.
4. For the route I use google maps to type out the basics. e.g. turn left on to the A4045 etc. Bullet point each change of direction.
5. do NOT publically post or give the route to anyone until the day of the run!
6. Have fun
I will try and do the odd run here and there... but it will be nice not to be up front all the time
I have some ideas for some other events so please keep an eye out ..

I remember you interviewing me over the phone to approve of me attending my first run!
Q: Tell me about your previous experience.
A: I've been to many cruises down Barry.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years time?
A: I'm hoping to 'ave a turbo on me Saxo by then bruv.
Blimey Matt. Thanks for all the runs bud. Nice to see you on the last one. If I had a bit more time I'd love to do the job no problem. Still very busy with family life in general so can't commit to a full day with anything yet, hence my brief appearances up at the 'horseshoe'. I'm sure ther'l be an old timer along soon with the torch burning brightly.......even if he's gone Jap...

I just wanted to echo the sentiments of other posters here by saying your runs will be sorely missed. They were always professionally organised and attracted a great group of like minded individuals. Let's hope someone here can carry on the good work.
I particularly liked those coloured maps you used to hand out.
