Driving back down the M4 this evening between J26 and J33 at a perfect 70mph (once out of the stupid 50 limit), thank you cruise control, quite a quiet night at about 8.30 too. I pulled out of lane 1 in to lane 2 to overtake noting the white van behind me. As I straightened up the white van pulled out with me, he too was doing 70 and had been following me for some miles, and all of a sudden turned on all his blue flashing grill lights at me, just as suddenly he turned them off so I think he must have knocked a switch or something. Now this van was a large LDV van, white and completely unmarked, what the hell do the police want with this thing?

Pursuit? Maybe it has a massive engine in the back rather than it's puny diesel one.

Registration was KV56 UXL.

or maybe its an ex paddy wagon someone has bought and re installed some flashy jappy lights for a laugh

or someone with a white LDV van just installed them so they could use the hard shoulder during congestion times(bar stewardes)

They also have a dark coloured blue/grey new VW Transporter too. Completely unmarked, just some strobes in the grill. Saw the 2 of them with the lights on by J33 a few weeks back.

I have seen this too! I remember it as a dark blue VW Transporter and it had pulled over a car at J32, lights flashing in the grill.

The van could have been being driven from the depot after having it's lights fitted, to the police station to have the stickers applied. It's unusual to have a white unmarked van.

The driver could have just been a bit of an idiot, having a play with the lights. We all would want to do the same, right? smile
