A lorry peppered me on the M4 last week leaving the mother of all stone chips and also quite a few smaller ones. I had the roof off and literally had to duck down, how the windscreen didn't go I'll never know. Anyhow, can anybody recommend a 'chips away' type company/individual. IIRC there was someone mentioned a few weeks back, but I can't find the thread. Thanks.
Had a situation about 2 years ago when i dragged the rear arch of the 911 along a fence post. It put in a couple of fairly deep scratches in to the paint. I used chips away and the result was excellent, the guy even re-sprayed one of my wing mirrors as he noticed that it had been sprayed before and left a slight ripple effect in the paint (quite obvious once he pointed it out). The problem with these smart repair companies is the variable quality of work between different operators.
The guy i used was David Blunt (07950 058595) and would recommend his work but it's not cheap. May be better off (if the damage is quite bad) trying a body shop. If you go this route i'd highly recommend NSW in Cardiff (can't find contact details though).
FG (Bloody hell, i can ramble on)

Used Dave on all three cars - Audi rear bumper where reversed into a bollard by Argos and kerbed alloys, Golf where white van man went into back of it and Lotus for some general touch up) and highly recommend him.
I have recommended him to lots of friends also and they are all happy.
I would on the reverse side say I have heard of some not so good but Dave is great (and I'm a picky bugger).
