does this mean that they will close to motorway just beacuse a lorry might have flat tyre, like they seem to do all the time in bristol.

what are theyre duties??????????

Other than looking pretty and scratching their privates.

There might be some intelligent ones, but most look like extras from the "Police Academy" movies.

I've seen them do a great job of efficiently crashed cars off the M4 over the border before. One of their duties definitely isn't holding a speed gun, so personally I'm quite happy with the change.

Tidying up, looking after breakdowns, rolling roadblocks to clear debris etc. On the whole they do a good job. Only problem is the reaction of the public thinking that they are plod - you'll get panic braking and 3 lanes of traffic doing 69mph past them.

Ah, motorway muppets. I always go past then at many leptons, they always give me a stern "looking at". Childish I know, but very satisfying.
