Want to do a S.Wales road trip
Discussion
Hello
Im Jim and im usually found hiding in the South Coast section. I fancy organising a bit of a road trip around some decent roads in S.Wales over the summer. It will proabably just be a weekend job. Leave early Sat morning, drive some good roads, B&B sat night, home sunday afternoon.
Just wanted to know from you locals peeps where is good to go. Any roads that are a must and any nice places to stay (areas or accomodation).
Any help appreciated
Cheers

South Wales? Hmmm. I would take a trip further up to mid Wales and West Wales. Rhayader has some B+B and the Elan Valley. The roads around are good.
Around S Wales Brecon has some B+B and a reasonable hotel or two. Builth Wells has a few digs and there is the Metropole hotel in Llandrindod Wells. I mention that as its not bad and a big car park. Its not far from Rhayader actually. The roads around there are OK as well.
It all really depends on what time you get here and what time you want to leave. Personally from the South Coast I would make it a Friday leave for all day Saturday in the area. But bear in mind getting back.
Just a thought or two.

Edited to add, check what is on at the show ground at Builth, they tend to pack out the accommodation in the area if big events are on.
