Anybody recommend a log supplier in the Mid/South Glamorgan/ Gwent area?

I've searched Yell and googled the feck out my computer and found nothing.

My usual supplier (ESA in Cowbridge) has run out of seasoned wood and every other joker I've phoned has either not replied to any message or promised the world and delivered f. all.

I want seasond split hardwood. I will pay the market price. I will collect it, if needs be, or will pay delivery.

Thanks.

Have you tried your local tree surgeon, might be worth a shot.

Quick update.

Anstey only have unseasoned wood and if the one from Machen is Rudry Firewood.. he's the joker who keeps promising: I'm still waiting for him to call back after I spoke to him at 10am.

"I'll call you back in 2 minutes"

Ar5e!

So, any more suggestions people?

Your not alone in your quest for decent wood. Main trouble is that wood choppers are not great marketeers and the interweb is a new fangled thing - to many of them at least.

I have two woodburners that i need to feed and have struggled to get enough wood this year. I have a few local contacts built up but with limited supply's but my greatest success is asking local landowners about fallen trees and getting it yourself - 4x4, chainsaw and trailer. Sometimes.... money is not enough.

Try these:

Cowbridge Landscapes & Supplies
The Dutch Garden Centre
Cardiff Gate
Cardiff
South Wales
CF35 5DR
01656 864886

Haven't driven past there in a while so no idea if they are still open or whether the wood is seasoned. The used to sell it for around £100 a tonne.
