Can anyone suggest a good wheel refurb company in West Wales please? I'm looking to refurb and perhaps paint a recently purchased set of track day wheels.

I'm really looking for a perfect finish, so would prefer to pay that bit extra to guarantee that, rather than scrimping

But thanks for replying Cardiff beer

I would recommend John down at ChipTech Swansea, has done many jobs for me, including a full, 4 wheel refurb of my 19" AMG alloys, the finish was absolutley superb!

Thanks guys,

For some reason the contact details Bountyhunter posted are blocked at work, would someone mind directing me to his website or contact info. Nothing from photobucket, flickr etc just typed directly into a post please.

Again thanks for all the help.

i may not be the cheapest, but all work is guaranteed and i strive to do the best, and you've gotta watch out for the cowboys out there, but i'm not gonna diss anyone on a public forum, but they know who they are!!

Steve

I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. The split rims on my Griff had a refurb just before I purchased it about a year ago, I've got the photo's and it appears, certainly to my untrained eye, that they did a good job and total cost was around £600.

I've now noticed that in areas the lacquer is coming off and the bolts on the rims are starting to rust.

so a) what could I have done to cause it? The wheels have only been washed using the same McGuires (sp?) shampoo I use on the body and with a sponge.

b) Is it possible to rescue them at this stage? I know you would need to see them but I mean in general are there "levels" of refurb or is it an all or nothing type thing?

Thanks

Paul

(And sorry for the thread hijack)

it's best for me to see them first, what it sounds like is the laquer has been chipped and moisture is now corroding the alloy, the only way to rectify this is to split the rims, remove the laquer and polish the rims, i supply a caresheet so they'll have the longest life
