reminds me of a sierra estate that was about tonyrefail, full 4x4 cosworth running gear and 380bhp engine.I drove it and laughed all the time i was in it!!
A guy who shall remain nameless passed a group of sports bikes at 175mph on the m4 ,they followed him to see what engine he had in it.
He told them it was a 1.8 tuned, they couldnt believe an estate passed them at that speed

Interesting given harpings I've heard about how much power a T5 engine gives. Presumably not this much.

I still dont get it. you could surly spend the money that these guys spend on something better like a car that would handle!
or if your going to spend so much money and time tuning an engine, would it not be better in something like a radical or similar?
the fact that this Volvo would still not beat a 1.6 formula ford around a race track proves the point!
also fact that a volvo can keep up with some really expensive supercars, is funny for about 5 minuets. at the end of the day a volvo is a volvo and a Ferrari has much more than just straight line speed.

The way i always look at it is that way it rolls out the factory. and if you were to spend equal time and money tuning the volvo would still be slower.
The benchmark starting platform is so much higher with supercars.

Granted the volvo done well in its debut in touring car and following years , im guessing there was not much of the original car left though.

Also it may be a bargain for the money, but its still a volvo and it will not stop being a volvo.

Earl Grey's dislike to the brand may be from being Volvo'd one too many times hehe

I can understand what you are saying but not everyone could afford a sports car or find one parctical enough for everday use.
Plus if you are looking at money side of it think about the fact that the ferrari is going to set you back say 100 grand now spend equal amount of money on a volvo and your gonna have something just as quick and with change.
That appiles to any car really not just volvo's you could do the same to a skyline and by the time you spent 100 grand your gonna have something much quicker than a supercar although granted in both cases not something that will get you as much respect

Thats actually a mean looking Volvo - however is that a ferrari sticker that some pesky kids have carefully and precisely placed on the wing?? wink

Maybe someone will confuse it with that black Scud going about!
