Not every Sunday but perhaps once a month we like to go out as a family and have Sunday lunch. Having fallen into the trap of sticking to what you know and are used to we decided to broaden our horizons and go to some new places. So yesterday we went to a well known Toby carvery (praps a little too well known) and queued for 30 mins to get our food. The meal was lovely, reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive but the last time I queued for food was at Butlins years ago and I'm not keen to do it again.
So any suggestions peeps?
I suppose I'm talking Cardiff and surrounding areas but sometimes it's nice to have a drive out also.

Can definately recommend the Farmers Arms in St Brides Major. Went there last xmas for lunch with the whole family and it was superb! Have since been back quite a few times for normal sunday lunch, as have my folks and its a nice little place that does great food! Nice drive down there as well!

Try the Red Lion in Pendoylan, I haven't been for while but last time I had a sunday lunch there it was fantastic, you might need to book though.

The Plough & Harrow in Monknash. Really nice food, rustic place, have really good BBQs in summer as well.

Miskin Arms Sunday Lunch is good. Plenty of gravy! Book a table in the Reataurant area to be sure though, as as the bar area is always full of Diners.

Gets my vote. We haven't done Sunday lunch there but when ever we have eaten there in the evening the food has been excellent. And it always seams to be busy.

we havent forgotten about you, you were mentioned once or twice this year but nothing came of it. Is it now out of season to do it or could something be on the cards this winter? let us know! (us being me or earl grey)

autumn/winter would be better beacause the car park gets rammed in the summer, how many do you think maybe interested? also, does anyone know about the Elite 44 Club in Sageston? They run a car hire day where you drive Aston, Ferrari and 911 for a few hundred quid (on the road around pembs- not on track though)

given the distance and the time of year, i wouldnt expect more than 15 cars to make that trip, but maybe if we gave enough notice i might be suprised
