Gower peninsular is pretty good just for a day out. Nice grub here http://www.kingarthurhotel.co.uk/

Take the A465 north for around 1/2 hour and the beacons are your plaything. Watch out for plod with a polaroid though.

Only stayed at the Marriott, Ramada and Towers. There is another in the center (ex post house if its still around) but parking is naff. Towers is the best in my opinion. Marriott is right on the beach and next to the marina and the Ramada is in a light industrial estate.

The Wiltshire TVRCC are using these later this month, if it's Swansea you want.

If you want a good run out, I'd go north of the M4 not South. thumbup

The Gower scenery is second to none but TVR driving country is North of the M4. yes...driving

A bit further West, others have recommended http://www.thewormshead.co.uk/ for its location and views (assuming the mist and rain clears whistle)

Enjoy your weekend !! wink

Nothing wrong with the followsing hotel great location 10 mins walk to Wine Street or a couple of quid in a taxi. Marina short walk.

Wine Street is the hub of social Swansea bars resturants etc.

Village Hotel Swansea - www.village-hotels.co.uk - 0870 066 5013

Head north A465 towards Merthyr Tydfil @ Hirwaun roundabout turn left towards Penderyn once through the Village open Beacons Winding roads but beware of sheep straying.

Hi Andy

Glad you had a great weekend down the Gower. My wife and I regularly go down that way and had 2 days down Port Eynon this weekend too. Think you picked the best weekend weather wise, definately makes it even nicer when the sun's shining!

Hi Gaz
we stayed in a B&B on the front, well just off the front behind the row of white appartments/holiday homes. the chap who owns them also has a new build behind them and he does B&B his name is Jeff! we only found out about it as another B&B was full and they recomended it to us. We only stayed there the one night (Fri) was very good though. i have the phone No if you require it.

Hey Andy

Yeah i know the one. Sounds really nice, when i mentioned you were down there to my wife, she guessed it might have been that one. Its ok about the number thanks, my in laws own a caravan in the park just behind that (Highfields) so we stayed there fri and sat and most probably walked past the B&B both days.
The whole area is really nice and definately worth a re-visit. All the best.
