Where are the best roads for a drive in south wales or anywhere in wales?

I think most of us know of the brecon beacons but there's got to be some more great roads out there, don't have to be fast roads could be great views or places to stop/visit, oh! no speed camera's would be a bonus! just in case!

Get a vote going for the best and then go and try it out.

So get those thinking caps on and get posting!

The A493 from Dolegallau to Aberdovey is awesome, and so is the Black Mountain > Llandovery > Sennybridge on a weekday evening.

Oh I don't know..... Llyn Brianne run is pretty good. Elan Vally. Further north and the Tal Y Llyn vally and surrounding area. Superb hooning grounds. Then onto the Llanberis area. Evo Triangle and all that. Down west wales are some superb roads as well. All with their own appeals.

Top down driving safely down to Tal Y Llyn with Cadair Idris on the right and the RAF providing some Tornado accompaniment. Superb stuff.

Elan valley, Aberystwyth mountain road and around Nant Y moch Reservoir some of my favourites. I always enjoy just going out late at night/early morning on the local roads and lanes around where I live. its amazing how much your local roads no matter how short can be when theres nobody on em!

+1 I live on the old Aber road and love it!

Raglan to Monmouth is a good stretch as well. Also Raglan to Chepstow smile
