A straight forward valet is around the £120 but for the paint correction, engine & wheels on the ST500 it was in excess of £200, though it was the dogs danglies.

Then it's doubled since he did both my cars, wouldn't pay £200 odd, there are pros charging that much and many that do the same for around £120, no disrespect meant

I probably wouldn't pay £120 either. I do too many miles to make it worth while.

Looking for someone that will do a quality wash, polish, and wax job.

but what are you looking for, just a polish and a wax? or paintwork correction and wax? and on what car?

Could be either, dependent on price. Car is a Porsche Cayman S.

to be fair it wouldnt be that much, probably 50 for wash polish and wax, correction about 110, would depend on how bad the paint was. But to be perfectly honest with a car worth that amount of money and only just starting out, i really wouldnt want to do it for fear of damaging it, by all means i could do it, but unlike the pro detailers who charge loads to do the job, they have insurance if it goes wrong.
ive got 2 cars booked in already, i will post up some pics, if you want it done, i can do it, but would prefer more practice on someone else car that i A. Know them and B. are a lower budget car.
thats my honest answer to it. i have been doing this for a while but its usually my cars or my mates cars.
ill post up some of my work and you can judge for yourself, because it is an expensive motor smile

One of the biggest problems with 'detailing' a car is that many people under estimte the amount of time needed to get a job done properly. I've seen cars that have taken 20 hours of work to get full correction, 8-12 hours is generally the norm. A good wash, clay, hand polish, glaze, wax is going to be in the region of £60-70 IMO.

its a lot of work, but i enjoy doing it, money is a bonus, my last one took 9 hours and still not finished it yet, but im getting a free gun out of it, either a steyr aug or G36C..(airsoft not real)
its something to do, its rewarding, but i feel to charge 60-70 and hour you will need overheads like insurance etc

Hi Pits, recognise the name of DW. I wasn't saying £60-70 an hour, thats the cost of doin a good valet rather than a detail. At £60-70 an hour, I'd only manage a three day week.
