Forgive the cheek of this fellas, but from being a long-time pistonhead the arrival of a new family has forced me into the land of the diesel and away from the car meets and shows I used to attend!

Anyhow, the short and curlies of it is that I am getting married to my long-term fiancee at the end of June and since we are both fairly big petrol-heads I figured it would be worht a go to see if any of you guys could possibly help us out with the wedding car?! wink

Obviously two-seaters are not going to be that much use, but if anyone has anything or can possibly help out I will (obviously) compensate your fuel costs as well as a bit extra in appreciation of the effort! I understand it's a bit of a long-shot, but I know you are a friendly bunch so I figured it would be worth a go!!

I can be contacted at twigster@twigster.plus.com if you can help, and I'll check on here (obviously! biggrin ) as well!!

Thanks all.

That's me Dave! I hear you are back in the land of scoobies as well? Will get another one someday myself, but once I have a bit more money spare I think!!

And I definitely haven't posted anything like this before, but I can imagine I'm probably not the first person to think of the idea!!

Scooby has gone again m8.....with the arrival of no. 2 son it was only getting used to drive to work and back (missus hated it and wouldn't take the boys out in it!), and it was therefore an unjustifiable expense! frown

I've gone diesel sensible for a while now too m8.....how's your dad doing? .....heard he's a millionaire now after selling up to the nationals!!! wink

He's alright mate, not sure about any of that stuff because he never really talks to me about work to be honest, and I never ask! I don't think he's in millionaire ranks though, or even close to it! biggrin

I'm in the process of trying to replace my diesel, to be honest unless you can get 50 or 60mpg out of them then they aren't the great money-savers that they are cracked up to be! Not sure if I want another scooby just yet, might try something like a BM 330i or an Accord Type-R. Got to get the wedding paid for first though and see what I have left afterwards!!

sorry all two seaters in our household mate except the daily ride if you want to go in a old Scenic. Welcome to have use of the shiny red SLK though.

Only way we would be able to use a two seater is if the owner was going to be trusting enough to let me drive it with the missus in to the reception.wink

Since I couldn't in all good conscience ask someone to loan me their pride and joy (albeit the reception is about 4 miles from the church along mainly open roads and mostly in 30mph limits) I will have to keep looking for now!

cheers for all the help though fellas. biggrin
