'W' Reg Vauxhall Zafira 1.8 Comfort petrol/automatic.

Angie my partner was driving along the M4 near Reading when the engine died! In short, the CAM belt has snapped!!

It's classed as an interference engine so probably needs some new valves and maybe guides too.

Anyone fancy taking on the job?

One would suspect that an engine from a salvage yard may be a better bet.

Yeah, that is a consideration. Maybe a short block or whatever.

I could probably do the job myself given time but like many garages, ours is full of junk and hasn't seen a car for years!

That was quick! Found someone who'll do the job next Tuesday.

Anyone know someone with a towing dolly to shift the car 8 miles? From Brynmenyn to Wick.
