OK, It has been decided that the TT must go. It is a January 2007 2.0 Fsi (New Shape Model) only 8,000 miles, and is now very rarely used. Silver, with Grey Interior + all Audi Bits in immaculate condition. Sell privately, or go to a dealer ? Maybe somebody local may buy - but not inclined to put a poster in window and attract local "tyre-kickers".... Advice wanted - or somebody with a burning desire to indulge in Pretty Golf GTI based motoring biggrin

Always worth a try, I had loads of response for a car I sold recently. Only one tyre kicker and lots of interest.

Thanks Simon, Will probably advertise - but have you seen how many TT's there are around.
I had also heard that there were problems advertising: An article in last week's Autocar told of a bloke whose Nissan Z was taken from Pistonheads / clones in photographs and advertised on E-Bay..!!

Yes, it was a tough decision, the wife or the car...?? but as the car was slightly less accommodating to my demands.. it has to go..laugh (anyway the ash-trays were full...)

Private selling is all about having a well prepared car, at the right price, in the right location. For example since there are so many TTs for sale you'll probably only attract prospective buyers from a 50 or so mile radius. Find out the p/ex price, and then set a realistic sales price. Usually less than many private sellers think they can get.

Rememeber, it is possible to get insurance for 1 day at a time so anyone can test drive if they're serious (do a search on here). I sold our TT on here, priced it sensibly - a good few hundred less than similar cars, plus it was a v good condition. Purchaser didn't really know how to drive a turbocharged car during the test drive - I didn't say much though as he obviously knew better wink

Well after all of the chat the car was sold yesterday. Got a good price and the bloke even paid the dealer with a nice $ cheque from a reputable American bank named "Bears Stern".. silly
Seriously, got a good deal and the nice car has gone to a good home.
