I've just bought BJ08 LOW form the DVLA and wonder if I'll get any grief for putting on the car? Surely I won't if I keep it spaced legally and the proper font?

Nah i'd say it would be fine mate. Especially as its come direct from the DVLA. If you started playing around with the spaceing and fonts, that could be different regardless of the plate.

it needs far too much messing with the get the wording you desire, and with a current purge on plates taking place, i think your asking for trouble myself mate.

I don't know, it seems quite obvious when you see the plate and as it is from the DVLA direct I think they'd be onto a loser

I never thought I'd read "pretty young girl" and "Bargoed social" in the same sentence.

I'm afraid the obviousness is passing me by too. While you might like to think that everyone will ascribe a smutty meaning to it, even as an avid "reader" of plates, it wouldn't strike me as being intentional. I would probably be more likely to think your name was Brian Joblow. I don't think the Police would give it a second glance - christ, they can't even stop the w*nk*rs with the sh*t fonts.

That strikes me as somewhat hypocritical given that you appear to have a number plate in a "s#+t font" that you have to read something into to get the meaning, wouldn't you agree? Given that you cannot buy a plate with a U or I in, the reader has to make the connection between the three glaring spelling mistakes in yours to get what you think the plate means, all very well if they realise you like to call yourself Lucifer (for whatever reason) but pretty meaningless otherwise. Aslo a rcenet US sduty has sohwn taht eevn tohugh a wrod may hvae svreeal sepillng msiateks in it, as lnog as the fsirt and lsat wrod are crrocet, the aevgrae psroen is albe to raed it esaliy. By all means get defensive but my font is 100% legal and correctly spaced. My plate is also for my own use as it refers to my forum user-name on this and many other forums so provides a reference point when I go to shows and is not actually aimed at the general public - but in any event is actually a recognisable word. It is also far better than the plate it came with and was the right price from the DVLA.

That is in contrast to a plate with a sexual connitation which is clearly begging Joe Public to smirk at the hilarity of writing "blow job" on your car, the humour of which is a bit wasted on me. But if it makes you happy, that's all that matters so enjoy it for what it is.

BTW, I have seen LU51FER advertised but it was rather a lot of money. It has also been cited regularly as a potential plate so perhaps the connection would, in any event, be rather more obvious than you suggest.

I'm not getting defensive old son, I just laugh at people that criticise others when their own house is far from in order. How is LV51 FER a recogniseable word? I'm not actually going to be putting the plate on my car as I only really bought to make a few quid on which it looks like doing so no worries there. Yes LU51 FER would be more recogniseable but you don't have that do you? You have a cheap rip off of it and you do not have the correct font if your pictures are anything to go by. If it makes people smirk when they see it then that is surely going to make the world a better place. I will now be leaving this topic as my Broadband provider is changing tomorrow and I can't guarrantee when the new one will take over so go on, fill your boots and have the last word. Just a bit of advice tho, get that font fixed because otherwise you could find yourself with a little less money in your pocket.
Tara!

OK, you win, it's not a recognisable word, so how did you recognise it?
Though I treasure your advice, I'm actually the one who advises the Police so I'm fairly confident about the money staying in my pocket and the legality of the plate on an imported car.
Don't forget to have a go at the others who disagreed with you too.
