I would be inclined to let it dry first. Is not the water that would worry me, but the washing itself.
BTW a guy at one of my jobs dropped his walkie talkie in a bucket of water, then he decided to speed up the drying by putting the radio in the microwave!!!

Wang Chung hehe

In my experience electronics tend to work ok if you let them dry out thoroughly (as long as they were not switched on went they went into the water!), maybe have to open it to give it a gentle clean inside though, in case soap is stuck in any of the components

Only advice I've seen is to leave it to dry out thoroughly before you try and switch it on - like leave it for say 2 weeks at least...

If you try switching it on while the water is still in it then it will definitely be kaput......

I think your probably screwed if it's been in the washing machine on a full cycle. The airing cupboard for 2-3 days has worked in the past with mobile phones. I guess there is a slim chance if it's one of the solid state memory models, like a nano.

But if it's one of the larger capacity, disk based models. It's game over!

dont turn it on wrap it into a platic bag,and take it to a good indepandant phone shop that repairs phones, theres a thing called an acid bath that eats up all the moisture then dries out quickly when its taken out.

I dropped a mobile down the toilet once, fished it out and left it in a cupboard, 6 months later it started ringing and was perfectly ok, albeit a tad smelly!rolleyes

Leave it for a couple of weeks at least in a area where there won't be any condensation. If you are lucky it should be ok. Do not try to turn it on, otherwise you'll screw it up.
