busy day polishing... again
Discussion
well with the lotus celbrations this weekend and the car on show at hethel i have to get her to concours level again, not that hard really as she is already there bar the odd paint mark and interior not done yet.
but the rear boot luvres needed doing again.
so it was a colour sand down with some 200 wet and dry and then some g3 compound which left the looking like this
after this i cleaned the panels down and dried them with a microfibre towel, no streak marks or water marks anywhere, bloody great things they are
now youcan see the g3 scratches in the plastic there and a blob of g10, the scratches will come out with the g1o so after that i applied the super resin polish.
this was left for a while and reapplied several times which left me with this finsh after a good wipe down with a polish removal mitt.
i have no idea why the bottle doesnt show right on the piccy!!!
anyway i then applied some super gloss glaze and thats drying now for the next 30-60 mins then i will wipe away to reveal the finished result, will post a piccy of that later.
what im toying with is in the new year is to possibly find another tailgate with the louvres in and cut the louvres out and replace them with a tougened glass same with the base so you can see through into the engine bay with it closed, i think that would look lovely
also cleaned every spoke on the bbs alloys with a toothbrush and cleaner!!, cleaned all the shut lines, door trims, edging, trims mirrors, glass inside and out.. everything, now to empty the engine bay again, re clean that, wipe the panels down and its ready then cover it over for satuday morning, that way when i arrive at lotus its only a good wipe down and some glaze again to get it concours finish
