Has anyone else noticed a sudden resurgence of the Capri on the roads of South Wales lately?

I have seen 3 different ones driving around the Barry/Penarth/Cardiff area in the last week, 2 of which looked to be in mint condition.

Seen one yesterday passing my home along with a couple of TR7's, Alpha Spider early 70's and a Herald convertible. There must have been a classic run going over the Beacons

A couple of years back there was quite an active Capri club in South Wales. My sister still has the families JPS 2.0S on an S plate which we have owned from new (was my first car in fact!). We have owned about a dozen between us over the years and I was quite tempted with a 2.8 as a track day car.

There are at least 3 turbo technics ones in S Wales.....anyway, I'm probably showing an unhealthy amount of interest here! nerd

Imprezas...Capris...Astras...BMWs...I always try to stick to cars with a good image nuts

Confession time:

I was an active member of the old "Capri club " south wales! back in old '94. I have owned 7 Capri's in total over the years! last one was a mint 2.8 Special, Diamond white, with half leather Recaro's! thought it was the dogs at the time! haha!

always remember one of our meets where there were 32 Capri's in the pub car park!

They certainly had character, a bit different, and the 2.8 at the time was considered to be a bit of a handfull! It where I started my love of "V" engines and their inherent aural qualities!

O back in the day eh? haha!

Ian.

When I was growing up I remember a guy down the road from my parents' house having a new a Tickford Capri in white.

My old TVR S1 had the same V6 and the 2.8i Capri. Sounded great.
