Not the States but Barbados. Anyone know if the American dollar can be used there or whether it would be financially better to obtain the Barbados dollar

Barbados dollar is fixed to the USD.

USD accepted widely on the island, as are major c.cards and t. cheques.

$1USD = $1.98BBD or $2BBD on the streets

If you want USD I can supply from stock. Barbados dollars need to be ordered.

Pays to book ahead. I ordered currency at 2.09 to the £ last month to deliver in April and it's going to pay off.

Had $1.97 to the pound last September when I went to Florida - so it's been good for a while. Had the same rate way back in 1992 the first time I went to Florida. It's not been so good in the intervening years - one year it went down to $1.34 - not nice.

None over £500 and no postage costs either. Company called CCE Currency via the internet. The further ahead you book, the better rate you get. Even one month sooner and it would have been 1.98. I suspect it's dived now though. Should have bought my tickets too though. When you're spending £700 on theme park tickets, the exchange rate can make a big difference.
