As I was driving back from work today I passed a rather nice dark blue sports car as I was going thru Llandaff. I'm trying to figure out what make/model it was. It was fairly old, as the reg went XXX 123X. It was curvy, fairly low and had the hood up. The exhaust came out of the engine compartment and ran along the side of the car. I couldn't see any badge so I don't even know what make it is.

Any ideas? Is it owned by anyone on here?

That's a hard one without more info. Jaguar D Type is very curvy and has an exhaust on the side.

The A suffix came out in 1963 though which post-dates those 50's Jags. Almost impossible to guess on such sketchy information.

I was kinda hoping the owner might be a PHer and see this post.

It wasn't a Jag D-Type tho, as it had a hood on it. It was similar. I always turn my phone off when I'm driving and I didn't get enough time at the lights to turn it on and take a piccy. I've just spent ages trawling google trying to find summat that looks like it.

Definitely not a ginetta. I'm beginning to think it might have been a Cobra rep of somekind. It had a scoop on the bonnet and a bumper that was made out of tubes. Add that to the side exhaust. As it had the soft-top up I didn't see if it had the hoops there.

You're probably right - Dax, Sumo, etc.. AC Cobra replica
Metallic midnight blue is a fav for them.
