Llandow to close..?
Discussion
The LDP (local development plan) has just been made public and every man and his dog with a field has put their land in for consideration, with a view to gaining planning permission for development. The Evans's have put their land in for consideration that's all, but having said that, with whats going to grow at St Athan the Llandow area could easily be given permission to develop.
It's a funny location, it may be granted permission but for housing its not the most glamorous location. Its in the middle of an industrial estate really and there are plenty of nicer fields around that houses could be built on. Also i cant see them expanding the industrial estate as there is enough industrial land around as it is!
I woudn't be too sure, I am involved in a commercial property that buys, sells and rent warehouses, there are lots of people with spare cash looking to invest and returns in the commercial market are higher than in the domestic market, so every man and his dog wants commercial property at the moment, it is a prime site for commercial development IMO

Exactly, and if the new road goes in to the airport the access will be much improved.Well there is plenty of land around the circuit that can be developed into industrial use, i dont see the point in them touching the circuit itself. I'm not sure how much of the surrounding area they own but maybe they are willing to sell off some of it to develop the actual circuit itself? It could do with a little infield section to break up the 2 straights.

Trouble is that adding length to the circuit via the infield is going to shorten the straights and they're pretty short as it is. Adding an infield section would also generate the potential problem of run-off areas presenting a risk to other parts of the circuit.I have just come from a meeting at Llantwit town hall, if the plans get the go ahead the circuit is just going to disapear under a housing estate, to say im annoyed is an understatment,
But at the end of the day if this is what the owners of llandow circuit want to sell up, thats there choice.
Damn shame.

yeah does seem kinda odd,
I been lurking for a while and just thought this is something people would like to know.
the pug it still nursing a few wounds from last track day, which should be sorted soon, ,mainly an uber spungey brake pedal, and cracked exhaust manifold (gone in the usual place)

I suspect if they do keep the track and build houses around it, it wont be long before the anti noise brigade start complaining and try to get it closed, or restrictions imposed. Llandow is about the only track I know that doesn't do noise testing, which is excellent for some amongst us.
Just look at the infamous family that moved next to Alton Towers and have managed to get a load of restrictions placed on it.
